Gustav Klimt (1862-1918) is a well-known Austrian symbolist painter. He founded the Vienna Secession and is a representative figure of the Vienna cultural circle. The characteristics of Klimt’s paintings are special symbolic decorative patterns. The themes often revolve around the cycle of “sex”, “love”, “life” and “death”, and the protagonists in the paintings are mostly women. Representative works include “Goldfish” and “Three Stages of Woman”.
